I have the Thunderheader on my 09 Night Train. I don't know what the baseline was but with the thunderheader and a Thundermax Auto tune fuel controller and the SE Heavy Breather A/C, I dyno'd 75 Hp and 94.79 ft/lbs of torque. This thing pulls from idle until you let off the throttle. And I only had 400 miles on the bike and they were afraid to really get on it. I am going to have the thundermax dialed in and with 1200 miles on it now I'm going to have them run it again.
Great sound and lots of torque, you won't regret your choice.
I've got the black on mine and although they are a little more subtle sound wise than my dual fishtails were I do like the sound and for sure like the difference in torque I noticed with them over what I had.
i got thunderheaders on both my electra glides, and they turn heads...period. my only complaint is when you drop 5 bills for a new one, they hit you for another 150 for the stinking head shields...come on., heres a chrome one with the shields powdercoated wrinkle black, which i like better, i have to get the muffler part done next week, but this is what looks like. chad.
I bought my thunderheader cheap off of ebay with the chrome blued to hell. I just sanded it some and sprayed it with high temp black exhaust paint. Sounds awesome. Also, I didn't fool with the heat shields. I see no need to.
I put a Thunderheader (along with a Stage 1) on my Fat Boy Lo 2 months ago. I want to run it on a dyno but the recent snow and ice is preventing me from taking it out of my garage. But based on my **** dyno the torque and HP are a huge difference. The sound is awesome. I love how it starts with a sharp and loud shot. When it is at idle, the bass is awesome. When I decelerate, the exhaust sounds like it is pissed off that I let off on the throttle- not sure if I can really describe that sound but my wife and I love that sound. It took some time for me to appreciate the style of the exhaust, but I wouldn't have it any other way now.
My pics of Big Bertha are way too big to attach but you can check out my garage for the pic of Big Bertha with a TH.
