Im sure some of you have one of Hill Country Customs Ape hanger kits. What kind of quality bars and controls are they? How is the chrome? Ive heard different reviews about the control buttons. Overall opinion of the product?
Ive been trying to get in touch with them for over a week now... Ive sent them a few emails with some questions, only got one back telling me to give them a call. However when I call, it goes straight to voice mail and the voice mailboxes are full, so I cant leave a message. Anyone closer to them know whats going on?
I have been trying to call them all week as well. I have also sent emails. I do not know if they shut down for the holidays but you would think they would be open by now.
I do know that most if not all are very happy with what they get from HCC but I have heard others have a hard time getting a hold of them as well...
I was trying to get some questions answered before I made my purchase. I also wanted to take advantage of the free shipping on ape hanger kits before the new year.
Considering the circumstances, I sure hope they will honor that still
I bought a kit from them. Chubby bars with the chrome controls. I thought the communication was also lacking at times from my experience. Maybe they did shut things down for a week during the holidays.
Did the Chubbys come with the kit that they advertise online? In other words... Would I be getting Chubbys with this kit below if I were to just buy it online?
Hi - I ordered a set complete with the handcontrols and I'm quite pleased . There was a minor issue with the fact the the freighters had been a bit lax with the handling of the packaging and one of the levers had popped out of the bottom of the box and was scratched, but HCC sorted this out for me in a few days, which when you consider was "over the pond" was better service then I would have expected from a UK supplier. My dealings with them were via email....and they were responsive....so I'd give them the thumbs up.

I am going to try to call them again on Monday. They have a set of beach bars prewired with cables but only with a black bar. I would think that if they have beach bars they would be willing to do what they do with apes but with beach bars.
I am still on the fence myself but I would like to get some answers from HCC. Like you though I can not get an email back or someone to pick up the phone.
