It's a great looking bike - saw my 1st one on the road 2 weeks ago up at Iron Horse. Seen em at the dealer but not the same as able to talk to the owner and get thier impression. He had the bags off but the shield on. Same paint I think? Don't see many CVO's around Daytona - too much $ and it's more of a bagger kind of town. Let me know if you want to sell that shield? It's the best looking one I have see for a softie. I wan't one to put on the Dirty Fatboy for longer rides. Wonder if some aftermarket company will try to copy it's design>
Slick ride -congrats.
Congrats on the new ride! They are beautiful. A friend of mine just traded her Deluxe in on one and loves it. She did put a FatBoy windshield on it though and likes it much better than the stock shield.
Just brought my new 2010 convertible home. Picked it up from the dealer, got it off the trailer (bought it a long way from home) and took it for a quick ride. Made my first right turn and the right side footboard scraped the highway! Road rash the first bolck! I mean I wasn't putting much lean on it at all. Anyone else out there had that little suprise yet? Is there anyway to modify the height of the footboards? Man am I bummed out!!

Didnt you test ride one before buying it? lol Softails scrape, especially lowered ones. You will learn to enjoy it. No worries, floorboards are easily replaceable. You will learn to ride differently, lean the body more not the bike, to minimize it. Enjoy the ride - you are lucky to own such a nice bike.
Barry...you may want to consider V&H Double Barrels Q Series. They have quiet baffles in them but are louder then stock. Not too obnoxious at all and you may do fine with them in CA without being harrassed. I know when I am out there for work, I hear some LOUD bikes so the Double Barrels would be a far cry from that. Good luck...and great bike you got!
Here's a picture of my new 2010 FLSTSE. I took off the backrest and the bags for the transport home. I changed the stock exhaust to a set of V&H softail duals and added rear floorboards. Still waiting for the fishtail tips to arrive. She's pretty loud so I hope the tails quiet her down a little.
