Thanks,

Mimo.
I found one on ebay for $200 plus shipping. This is a rare deal. The PCIII is around $275-289 on most ebay listings. The PCIII is really an old way of tuning your bike compared to the new PC5 (not ready yet to public) or the ThunderMaxx. If I knowed then what know now I would of ordered different headers with 02 ports (2006 bikes have no 02 ports, but the Thundermaxx will make an 2006 utilize this technology, its superior for fuel management) . Your friend is lucky he already has 02 ports on his pipes.
IMHO the Thundermaxx is top of the line and superior right now.

PC-V which is made for that bike 09' later. Call your site sponser "Fuel Moto" give them a name throw ...umm maybe "Mimo" site moderator...see what happens. You never know unless you ask right? They got every map in the book over there as they are the largest PowerCommander distributar in the U.S.

PC-V is super small which makes fitment simple. Fits on top of battery NO PROBLEM.

Fuel Moto also has FREE tech/map support. If you buy from them. Which i took full advantage of. And my unit has worked flawlessly since.

Whats good about the PC-V is that you can use it for future mods ..ie..cams ect...they are a retunable unit. And they also have a plug in unit "auto-tune" to the PC-V. Which is just that..auto-tune.

It was last year when i purchased mine but i think i payed right around $300.00 for mine.

GOOD LUCK!

Well its good to know the PC5 does have maps available to the public. I have been keeping up with the PC5 website and it keeps saying coming soon or under development, when you put in a 2009 or a 2010 year Harley Softtail bike.

I got my Tmax for $699. The invoice is at work, I'll have to look tomorrow... I don't remember where I got it. I think it retails for around $900.

My local Indy was showing his catalogs the other day... seems there are several new "autotune" units that will be available soon. The Tmax is tried and proven though. I'm leary of new things 'til they get some time and miles on them.

i got my thundermax used from the forum classified for $450. had a pclll before that for $150 plus $300 for the dyno tune. only way it would run right. none of the canned maps worked. i will be on my third kind of exhaust so thundermax will save me from now on and who knows i may put NOX on it.

I've got a V&H Fuel Pak on mine. Works very well, not too hard to install and V&H's customer service was excellent in providing me with the most up to date map for my bike. For the price point of this thing, it can't be beat. However, if your friend has future engine mods (heads, cams) in the works, he may consider something like the PCV, which I understand is more customizable.

PS. Next time around I will go through Fuel Moto, since I've heard such good things about them. Unfortunately, I didn't know any better when I was in the market.

The TTS is hands-down the best out there, even if you're not going to add anything else to the bike. With the VTune software everything can be adjusted by the owner, including speedometer correction if he ever gets different wheels or changes primary gearing. There's nothing to add onto the bike like with a Power Commander, and you use the original ECM and get to keep the knock sensor unlike the Thundermax.

There have been several threads here and elsewhere about the difference in construction between the Delphi ECM and the Thundermax ECM. Many people are very happy with their Thundermax, not a chance I'd use one on my bikes.
