Default 1994 flstn

Just bought my first bike that didn't come in pieces or boxes. It's a 94 FLSTN in white/silver. Anything I should know about this model? It won't change my mind, but if it helps me take good care of it, that would help.

I'd change out the engine, trans and primary lubes right away. just to have all fresh and a starting point for changes. I won't suggest what oil to use as that's another topic all within it's self.

great bike you have. saw a story about Baker, the owner and original desiner of Baker transmissions. his bike identical to yours was stolen and the insurance money is what started Baker Trans Co.

The FLSTN was a great bike.
I had a '93 and a '96- loved'em both.

I owned a 1993 when Harley could still call it a "Nostalgia". From what I understand HD lost a law suit and couldn't call that any more. Siver and white with a red pin stripe. I put an Andrews cam in it, changed the exhaust and re-jetted the carb and it ran pretty well. At least I could beat the stock Harleys of the time.

Ironhead, welcome to a very exclusive club! I just got mine after searching for one about 6 months ago. You're going to love the bike. It's really a head-turner, and I get tons of compliments everywhere I go. It's a true collectible and I've even read of it mentioned as "the most desirable Harley-Davidson ever built". That is, of course, a matter of opinion, but no question you've got a pretty special bike.

I'm doing a little customizing on mine, but saving all of the OEM parts in case anyone wants to ever put it back to stone stock. Only tough part has been finding accessories to fit-- you'll find most of the stuff at the dealership is 96 and up, but there is still plenty you can do if you want to. If you got the bags with it and they are in good shape, you should do your best to protect them-- they are worth some $$$. I've left mine off and will be getting some aftermarket bags to use when I need them. Also, the cowhair on your seat has a tendency to wear off in spots, so you might think about protecting that as well.

The Evolution is a rock-solid motor that should give you a lot of miles if you take good care of it. Mine only has about 7,000 miles, but I didn't get much of a history on it, so I'm doing a full 10,000 mile service on it before this riding season. There is a good book on Evo maintenance and performance upgrades that covers a lot the service manual (get one of those too) doesn't:

I've had mine for 2 years, it was purchased new from Greensboro HD by a local, I have the sales slip from original purchase, hard to believe it sold new for 26K. I have a set of bags from a 94 fatboy, but not the OEM stuff. fresh motor (crank separated at 22K miles), shotgun pipes, Andrews cam, and other stuff got it up to 70hp at the rear wheel, not great but it gets me where I wish to go. I love the ride and plan on keeping it for a long time.
