Default throttle cable question

Hey everyone new to the board. I have a 98 heratage softail classic that I am tearing down this winter and have managed to confuse myself with a little overthinking. I need to order the idle cable and the throttle cable but have no idea how to measure it. Does it go from the case to case, or from tip to tip? If it goes from the case to case do you measure the 90degree as well? I know I am putting way to much thought here but it is either going to make it a 32 in cable or a 39 in cable and I don't want to waste my time or money.

thanks in advance

john
