Default Look for quick release saddlebags

I am currently looking to replace my throw over bags with a set of quick release bags. I have seen there are some out there that recommend the quick release brackets or ghost brackets, but I am not keen on drilling holes in brand new bags. I don't want to break the back, but I am looking for recommendations from folks that may already have gone down this road.

I love my Boss Bags quick disconnect. They mount and come off with an air chuck type design. Just pull off, push on. The disadvantage is that the mounting studs stick out a ways (couple of inches). I'm thinkin' if you're going to ride without bags a lot, that's not gonna do.

I did have to drill my original saddlebag screw holes to make them larger to accommodate Boss Bags' hardware. The kit also provided spacers. They look absolutely stock on the bike, which was what I wanted. The air chucks stick out inside the saddlebags, too. A minor inconvenience. I can still load 'em up and haven't messed up a half-shell helmet or rain suit, etc.

With the way my Heritage Classic is outfitted, I think it looks best without the windshield, passenger pillon or backrest. I leave the bags on 'cuz my seat's wide and my turn signals. Looks low and sleek, but it's not as sleek as a Fatboy. The quick release is great for washing the bike, puttin' on chrome underneath, and other mods that require their removal.

Thanks for the suggestion. I checked 'em out and I was looking to stay below $500 if possible. I put in my post I didn't want to break the "back", but meant "bank". I found a set at U.S. Saddlebag Company that I think would look good, but haven't been able to find much out about them. Has anyone had bags from this company?

I went with edge bags and ghost lockable brackets, under 500.00
easy install but you will have to drill holes in the bags...

I have LeatherPros. No drilling. The brackets come already mounted to the bags.

I have leatherworks. They are great bags. I use the EZ Brackets. I like them because they lock on the bike and you need a key to remove the bags.

+1. Found used leatherworks for 1/2 off with ez brackets. If you are patient used bags are not hard to find. Get quality ones, even if it takes a little time.

Have the Boss Bags and like them. When not on the bike they make some really cool bullet covers for the studs that look great. Perhaps you can make them out from my sig photo?
