Ok guys, looking for a ride side jockey shift. I don't want to go with a foot clutch but want the hand shift. I have a buddy who has an old Ironhead with this set set up and I think it is the ****. I did some searching but came up with nothing. I'll keep the hand clutch but don't mind reaching down with my right hand to shift. Thanks for the help.
Interesting... I would say all you gotta do is fab or have someone fab up a shifter handle for you... relocate the coil and remove the coil mount and brace right in front of the oil can to make room for the shifter to come through to the right side. The thing is that with a jockey it got quite a bit of throw in it you would have to do that trail and error thing to make sure you have enough clearance... Hmmm maybe a round oil can would give you the clearance that you need... lol. Good luck.

Are we talking like a tank shift that would be sick! Seems like yould be bucking and jerkin if you had to reach behind your leg. Like story said coil relocation is a must. I'm diggin it big time.
With that set up you won't be setting any land speed records... lol I think you need to be a better then avg. rider just to keep up with your friends with hand clutches when everyones banging through the gears.
yea you would have to let the throttle go just to shift..............the 70s sportsters had the brake on the left and shift on the right .......on a new bike it would be hard to pull off but would be cool and your own.

Sounds like a wickked idea , but I have one question to ask .
If your using your left hand to clutch and your right hand to shift ..... how will you give it throttle ? I think a foot clutch and left hand jockey would be the best ....just my .02 .
Or am I missing something ?
My buddy kept up with me with his ironhead. The shift rod run to the left side, down to the linkage but he had to reach behind his right leg to shift. I don't think I was going to set any land speed records anyway so screw it. If someone made a kit I would jump on it in a heartbeat but I don't have time right now for a home mod.
Sounds like a wicked idea , but I have one question to ask .
