Also, any rec's on good earbuds would be appreciated. My small Sony ones (cheap) don't do real good over the droning of my Long Shots. Any one using their iPod with loud pipes, I would be curious to see what earbuds you have so I can go get me some!

I use 'em every day on the treadmill and just about every time I ride any distance. I've got V&H Straightshots w/ Stage I breather and they're just fine for me. I like to hear the tunes over the top a little of the engine. I've used 'em without the windshield too. I do put the volume all the way up.
Haven't tried "noise cancelling" earbuds. Used to be those were for canceling out a droning kind of frequency like jet airplane engines. Not sure if they would work as well with the sound of a V-Twin for the extra $$$.
Not trying to hijack the thread, but had to chime in. My beautiful bride bought me a pair of Oakley Thumps sunglasses for X-mas (they are sunglasses with a built-in MP3 player and earbuds). These things are awesome!! I have ridden with them both with and without my shield and am still able to hear very well. The straps from my 1/2 helmet hold the buds on place well. I was using my iPod before tucked into my shirt pocket or jacket.
I use a set of ear phones that are molded/fitted for my ear....no not the real expensive set. They are do it yourself kind and they block all noise. I had my made at Daytona last year but you can buy the kit. I'll try to find the box with name on it
I use noise cancelling Shure earbuds. They are great because not only can you listen to music, but it also keeps the wind noise out. Pretty expensive though.
