Default What fits what exhaust question..

My son just picked up a '96 "BadBoy" Springer, with the 80" EVO. He'd like to swap out the stock pipes on it. Until recently, my HD parts experiences left off at the first year of cone motor Shovels. We'd like to know what pipes will fit so we know what to look for in our swap meet hunts. I have been told that Twin Cam pipes up to such and such a year will fit, but do they? We've spotted a couple of deals but need to know what it is we need.

So, what years/applications are interchangeable on this model? Many thanks.

Email replies greatly appreciated.

I don't believe that any pipe made for a Twin Cam engine will fit on an EVO.
But nearly any pipe design you can find will have a version that's made to fit the later EVO engine bikes.

i really think your best bet would be .. say go to samsonusa.com, vanceandhines.com,
or any other mfg that you like and see the application for each system you like???

i have a 2000 Deuce.. i found a set of pipes I wanted.. went to v&h.com.. checked into them there....mine fit 97-06 models...

good luck...

As far as fitting the motor any set of pipes for a twin cam will fit an Evo they have the same measurements between the cylinder heads. Where the problem is is making them fit the bike. I have a set of black Hooker troublemakers made for a twincam softail that bolted up to my 87 evo motor but I had to use a exhaust mounting bracket off of a 06 Road King to mount them to my FXR. There are a lot of options for pipes and if you can fabricate that gives you even more options.

You might want to check the Hooker Headers website and see if they have any more exhausts for softails left. My trouble makers were 700.00 new and I got them for 225.00 with shipping included. Hooker is eliminating there motorcycle exhaust division. Good luck on your project, that Bad Boy is one of Harley's cooler bikes.

I'd suggest getting a catolog or look up one of the on line HD part dealers and check out there fitment charts...
that way U can cross reference what fits what....

Here,, I looked up what Dennis Kirk offers on the 96 Bad Boy for U....
