Just finished a few things on my bike, thought I'd post some pics for you all. Took me quite a while to get it done, having never done this kind of stuff before. I spent a lot of time going through the forum posts here figuring out how to do the things the manual wasn't real clear on. Wanted to send out a big thank you for the wealth of knowledge you guys provide. Let me know what you think of the direction I'm headed with this thing!
-- internally wired beach bars, chrome controls, chrome switches and housings
-- stainless steel braided clutch, throttle/idle, and brake lines
-- Performance Machine 6-piston chrome front brake calipers
-- EZ brake pedal
-- chrome passenger pegs
-- chrome billet handgrips
-- a few other little things...
Have you thought about putting this turn signal kit on the back? I put it on my Heritage I think these look much better than the stock turn signal bar.
yeah, I've been looking at that turn signal kit. Probably gonna do that down the line-- looks a lot cleaner.
The bag supports are stock and work with the stock Nostalgia bags (the ones with the cowhair inserts). Mine are in really good shape and kind of want to keep them off the bike as much as I can-- they are kinda rare. They are really small and fit over the top of the exhaust. Not sure what to do with that-- thinking about fishtail duals.
Keithhu-- do you have any pics of your bike with those signals?
I can take some tomorrow afternoon. It looks sweet. I also removed the standup license frame (yech), put 3 chrome acorn nuts in the holes (I'm ok with it, but not thrilled), and tomorrow I will put on the SoftBrake license plate frame that will put the plate *below* the turn signal bar.
Thanks for the comments, guys. BLKnCHROME, your bike has been sort of an inspiration so far, so I appreciate the props. Still have lots to do-- lowering (shotgun), figuring out the pipes, etc. Thinking about fishtail duals and a BareBones seat, but not sure about getting too far away from the "Nostalgia" look. They didn't make a whole lot of these and it's a pretty nice example with about 7K miles. Any thoughts on that?
