Default Front brake question

I just put 12.5" apes on my bike. I have bled the brakes and I am filling the front brake resevoir up. The service manual says fill to within 1/8 inch of the gasket seal. My question is due to the curviture of the bars I cannot get the resevoir filled evenly (the resevoir sits at an angle on the bars). Do I need to loosen the whole bracket and fill the resevoir and then retighten?

Also, all switches and blinkers work. However, the low beam on my headlight does not work, only the high beam. Any suggestions?

It isn't gonna hurt to just get it as high as you can. That is what I did. As far as the light goes might just be a burned filament. After that I would check and make sure the voltage is actually reaching the bulb, if memory serves it is a yellow wire, however I could be wrong, but there are only three wires there. Also you could look to see if the high beam indicator goes on and off with the switch as it should. This will basically just tell you that the switch operates. Good luck!

When I changed the bars on my Heritage the low beam quit working also. After a lot of investigating, poking and pulling, turns out that it was the plug under the tank. When I extended the wiring for the higher bars I didn't get the plug seafed all the way or I unknowingly pulled it out during reassembly. Anyway, If you and the harness plugs out give that a check.

Well it appears that the plugs are secured correctly. I must have pulled a wire loose during the process of wiring the bars. Anyway, I am contemplating putting chrome controls on my bike so I may wait to locate the loose wire when I change out the controls. I am not in the mood to tear the whole thing apart again right now.

thanks for the help

Pics are forth coming

be sure to turn the front end to get the master as close to level as you can.

I decided to loosen the controls and turned them to where te resevoir was straight up and down. I then filled it to within 1/8" of the top of the resevoir. At least now I know if it has enough brake fluid. For my own piece of mind.
