The wife is looking to get a leather coat for riding but didn't really see anything at the HD shop today that she felt she had to have. She wants something a little unique/orignal. Anyone have any good quality leather coat recomendations? The Fox creek stuff looks like good quality but open to any others i am not aware of.
take a look around at kewanee leather company. wife and i drove over there 2 years ago. real nice stuff for a real nice price. they do mailorder. the nice thing about them is how they size jackets. real sixes (ie. 42, 44, 46..... not sm, med, lrg.) same with womens. get a REAL NICE FIT THAT WAY. steve
man, h-d has the most expensive cows on earth! do a google search and youll find plenty for way less.
Yes i understand that, but it is hard to tell from a picture online how good the quality is. That's why I am asking on here about other companies that people have been happy with the product they got. There is a local place here that sells cheaper leather coats but quite frankly it is not very nice stuff. I am not looking for a cheap price with cheap leather. I want good leather and cheap would be a bonus but you get what you pay for most of the time so I would rather pay more the 1st time than have to buy something else in 2 yrs b/c the coat is falling apart.

I see your point . I guess I said that cuz I only wear my jacket in the winter when I ride (maybe 8- 10 times a year)so I didnt see the need for dropping 5 or 6 bills for a jacket. mine is made by highway one and I like it fine. if Im lucky It may not fall apart after I put it on 16-20 times. Good luck.
Fox Creek is really good quality, Vanson too (although depending on which leather they use, can take a while to break in - but they will custom make you stuff). Milwaukee brand is also excellent, but can harder to find. Their vests and jackets are made of high quuality, good feeling leather, worth the extra bucks. They also make great boots.
i bought my jacket, chaps and vest from antelope creek leather and im happy with them, there quality and thick as hell. check out this place. i talked to the sales rep a couple months ago about one of there aviator helmets and he sounded like he has a really good product. all items are custom fit and he swears if you laid there leather next to the other guys it would really stand out on the quality. if you call and leave a message he will call you back, but it might take a few days. the prices arent bad either and he guarantees every item to fit perfect or they will fix it for free until it does. http://www.popsleather.com/c_mw.php3?cksess=0507-ceeeb6167ea91d719bf3fb80ba507f4a-74328139 i bought my jacket, chaps and vest from antelope
