I guess my question can be answered by Harley Goodies but, I'm also reaching out to anyone else who may have installed the floor board extensions. I just put pipes and a heavy breather on my 03 heritage. I noticed that if I were now to hit the right floor board when riding it will pivot up and hit the lower pipe of my V & H Big shot longs which will dent the pipe. Also As I sit on the bike now with the heavy breather on the bike it seems like the brake pedal is too close to the bike. When I try to step on the pedal my right knee hits the air cleaner. I was looking at the Harley Goodies web site and it seems like the floor board extension kit moves the boards out leaving the bracket and brake pedal in their original position. So my question is do they make a kit to move the brake pedal the same 1 1/4 " out? Would I be better off moving the floor board brackets out instead of just the floor board plates? Is that even possible? It seems as though the Harley Goodies extensions will solve the problem of the boards hitting the pipe but will the brake pedal be hard to get to. I'm thinking I would prefer to move the pedal out as well. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.
I have just installed the floorboard extensions and really like them. But, I haven't been on any curvy roads yet so don't know if I'll scrape the boards or not. I've never previously scraped the boards before. With your bike, the boards scrape easier than with my RK, so I bet if you now are already scraping then this will be worse for you with the extensions. I'm not sure if extending out the brake pedal is possible. Good luck.
first my knee allways hits the air cleaner.
second. i have samson true duals and my footboards would nail the pipe if they got pushed up much. i will be moving my boards out to remed both situations. i dont think there is any problem with the pedal at least on my bike. 2009 deluxe. if you get the cross bones pedal it is huge. it would take care of any problem with getting to it.
Ive got the h-g extensions on my bike and wouldnt trade em for new pipes. I guess the older brackets for the boards are differant than my07 cause Id have to drop it for them to hit the pipes. the extensions will transform the comfort of your ride.
