WOW!.....you are a magician if you can do tis without pulling the tank. I couldn't get to the wiring connectors without pulling the whole tank. As Carmell stated it's not that bad if you siphon off most of the gas in the tank to start with, the front crossover is where I had the most spillage but with a rag laid over the rockers no gas even hit the floor, thats how little it was. I didn't think getting to the connectors was that bad. I didn't have much of a problem. I think I slid the tank back about 6 inches, maybe. The right side was very exposed. The left, not so much, but I could still get to it.

Or long fingers... I pulled the tank on mine. On my 07 Fatboy I did change the throttle/idle cables by sliding back the tank but it wasn't easy.
