fitted this for a mate. accutronix 5 degree trees, 2"over 49mm tubes and chrome stems.
because its made for a wideglide which has a lug for fork stop have to make something up, internal stop wouldn't fit because of the way bottom tree is moulded.
anyway cos we went 5 degree in the trees i guessed 2 inch over in tubes. turns out i was wrong cos once he gets just over 70 it goes into a tankslap. so i lifted the tubes in the trees around 2 inches and took it up to 160 today with no dramas.
my question is it looks crap with the forks sitting so far through the trees, is it alright to just put longer spacers in or should i swap the springs for shorter ones??
Looks good. I'd go with 2" shorter tubes personally. You will keep your ride quality and suspension travel that way.
160? How did you even know how fast you were going? It appears that your bike is an 06 Softail Standard. What mods do you even have done to make that speed attainable from a TC88? And you are just asking for abuse on that one...
haha, good translation guys.yes km not miles I forgot to convert it. this bike does go great though, its an 08 standard with 103 kit.
I think i will take the advice on shorter tubes, as they are 2" over tubes but standard springs they have 2" spacers in them, when i rose the tubes in the trees it seemed fine but when i took the spacers out and returned forks to top of trees it seems to warble a little again.
thanks for your replys
