Hey Guys,
I have the progressive drop on springs in my 06 fxst and have trimmed the 4.5" pvc spacer to 4 inches for the lowest possible ride height that the kit recommends. I was wondering if any of you guys have taken more than 1/2" of the spacer. The kit says do not remove more than 1/2" and do not add any more than 1" to the length listed for your model in the directions. My dilema is I want to go lower. I would like to trim the pvc spacer to 3 1/2" for an additional drop. Has anybody done this? Does it cause the front end to bottom out?
Thanks,
Rick
I originally had mine 3 3/4" and had no problems. If you are not happy with how low it is swap to the FL fork tubes and slam it. I have the FL tubes and Drop-in kit on my bike now and really like it.
Hey bgibbster,
I like that shorty frond end look on your bike. Are thoose 22.5" fork tubes? Also what do you have your spacer cut to with thoose fork tubes?
DarkTrak... said he cut his to 3.5" with stock trees and sofar no issues... He also said that like that it went down around 1.75 to 2.00 total drop. I'm doing mine soon so I was reading up a little and seen this thread hope it helps... Lets us know when you finished.
Its only PVC pipe, if you cut too much swing by Home Depot or Lowes and pic up some more. I went prior to chopping mine in case I cut too much off so I wouldn't have to stop what I was doing to buy more.
