Default need some advise

Hey guys,
Just picked up a new fatboy lo and i finnaly decided on my pipes. Goin with Vance and Hines black bigshots staggerd. My question is, i wanted to hear feedback on TUNERS(programmers) you think would make the MOST power. I may do mods in the future but dont want to base my decision on that. I want a very good gain NOW for what im doing and in the future if i decide to do more mods i can always upgrade.... If you guys dont mind id like to hear the pros and cons of the differnt tuners you guys are using.... FUEL PAC , ect..... Thanks for your advise in advance.... ALL coments are appreciated..

I have Bassani road rage, stage 1 A/C and a Power Commander V from Fuelmoto (a site sponsor) I also ran a PC-V on my 09 Road King. I have felt a noticeable difference on both bikes in performance after the installation. On the Road King, I noticed also a drastic difference in the heat coming from the motor. It was a lot cooler after the power commander. I cannot speak on this with the Crossbones, because it only had 70 miles on it when I made the switch. An important thing with the Power Commander is who tunes it. Jamie at Fuelmoto is top notch and every map I have gotten from him has seemed to be spot on.

The only "con" I can think of with the Power Commander, was getting it to fit under the seat of the softail. Nothing some creatinve routing of cables can't take care of though.

what about between the fuel pac and the power commander? is the Fuel pac better because V&H already designed the dyno proven program to match its pipes? or can i make more power from the power commander.....

the fuel pak is very limited in what it can do. even a p/c with a canned map is not optimum. if your looking for the most power you can gain,I personally dont believe the answer lies in the device as much as in the programmer that is doing the tuning. the power commander is an excellant device..in the right hands. but so are the h-d tuner and many others. you still gotta have a competant knowledgable tech to set it up.

That's why I said a power commander form fuelmoto is good. He dyno tunes the maps on actual bikes in his shop with the same or similar combo. Nothing can substitue for an actual dyno tune, but Jamie's maps are pretty darned close. I wouldn't put any thought into the fact that your are using vance and hines pipes. It is pretty irrelevant in my opinion.

If you got 02 sensor pipes and engine get a Thundermaxx or a PC-V with autotune. Little pricey but you can't go wrong.
Stay away from the V&H Fuel Pak, its just not that great of a system, and most who buy the V&H fuel pak get rid of it and get another fuel management system.

I went with the SEST because I had it all done at the dealer before I picked up the bike. My last bike had a PCIII and the canned map had issues, took it to a local guru and had it dyno'd. Ran great after that. I think the SEST setup I have now is more responsive than that PCIII, but someday I may upgrade and get an Autotune setup.
