Does Heritage have better lean angle / cornering / clearance compared to Deluxe?
Still trying to decide between a new Heritage or new Deluxe and haven't yet asked about the "real" difference in handling. The specs say the lean angle is virtually the same and 20mm more ground clearance with the FLSTC....
But what does that mean on the road?
I'm not looking for a sports bike, but everybody loves the twisties and winding roads.
it all depends on what line ya take and your speed.......3/4-7/8" aint much if your pushing the speed limit on witch you do the twistys/curves.....Other then that the hight differance will be most noticable when sitting still on the bike with feet on the ground.
My wife purchased an 09 Heritage Classic. Rode it home, pulled in the driveway and said "I hate this bike"! I said "that ain't good". I called the Dealer the next morning and told him. He said bring it back. Since the paperwork had never been submitted he would put her on an 09 Deluxe which is what she wanted to begin with. She rode the Deluxe home and loves it. I know everyone says they're the same bikes and that may be true. The Deluxe hands down is more comfortable and feels like it rides better. Just my 2 cents.
I'll soon have the outside edges of my floorboards ground off, and I just got this bike in November. It's the one thing I don't like about the Herry.
At least I expect it now; it doesn't startle me anymore.
Depends on how you ride. Also what type of theme for you bike. I like the deluxe because of its classy look because i didnt want a bike with rivets on every thing. If I had more thing to shine i would lose it.
At 60+ I don't push her hard at all....Afraid I'd fall off if I leaned that far...
Don't do twisty's here in the flat lands of Indiana...
I can say that in almost 25k miles I touched a board 1 time....
never rode a crotch rocket either.....
