Default Pics of my leg, after 8 1/2 months

Quick update for you that don't know. I was hit on my bike on June 6th. A guy pulling a stockcar turned into me at about 5mph. My leg was almost cut off, there was less than two inches of skin holding it. Can't really commit much more on the accident since it is still in litigation on going. But after all of this time and 6 surgeries, it looks like I will keep my left leg and will be able to ride again!

This is a picture of my leg today. The frame work is a Fisher External Fixator. I have no plates or screws on the inside of my leg. Surgeon has not told me a date of removal yet, but I am guessing 6 to 8 weeks!

I have no problems answering any questions you guys have about myself, just can't talk alot about the actual accident.

Glad you get to keep your leg. Makes me wonder at times when I see these things if its worth riding or not. Good luck to you.

One of my soldiers was hit by an IED from 10 feet away three years ago. His right leg bone was shattered and held on by about two inches like yours. He too had one of those on his leg for what seems forever. His bones have grown back and it is straight. He has had many operations to fix this or that but is getting better and should be almost back to 100% within the year.

Heal soon man; spring is just around the corner. Good luck with your law suit.

81/2 months!

I can only imagine what you have been going through physically as well as emotionally.
Great to hear the leg is healing fine. I hope the litigation goes your way as well.

I'm betting it's going to be a pretty emotional day when you get to throw your left foot over the bike! (that doesn't sound right but you know what I mean... )
We're all pulling for you!

Thanks Mark. Things are really going good, I have been very lucky so far. And you are right, I will ride again

No matter how careful you are, your number will be called sooner or later. This is the first accident I have ever been in, car, truck or bike.

I hope he does get back to 100% and let him know he is my prayers along with all of the service men and women protecting our country.

Looks hardcore, but won't it scratch up your chrome?

Seriously though, hope you have a quick recovery and will be able to ride again soon.

I was thinking the leg brace needed more chrome!

Maybe you'll get the thing off in the next few weeks.... before spring.

I can't imagine an injury as severe as yours. I was out for a while, having my right knee reconstructed. I was in an immobilizing brace for 8 weeks.... but 8 months!!! Are about to go insane??? I know you're ready to get back on your feet!
