First ride today on the train, cold and short ride; man I need some chaps. I know now without a doubt the old sportster will go up for sale, this bike is awesome. Just went on country roads and a short stretch of high-speed to get a feel for the bike. It feels very comfortable in the turns and highway performance is everything I hoped for.
I was given the impression that I may want to keep the sporty for running the back roads, I dont run high speed scraping the pegs stuff anyway and the train felt great. I love that sporty but me thinks it needs a new home.
On your next front tire, if you don't already have it, try an Dunlop Elite 3. It's light years ahead of the stock Dunlop. I've never tried one but a lot of people that have are saying they're better than the Metzelers.
Really gives the bike a sure footed feeling and the grooves just disappear somehow.
