Just received my OEM parts for my handlebar swap on my '08 bones.
Stock stainless bar from '97 Bad Boy, black risers (4" tall vs 2"), 4 dampener bushings, 2 longer riser studs, 2 special washers, one longer ground spring.
I was able to use the stock black riser caps and bolts. Also the stock nylocks.
I am leaving the bar bare stainless for a bit of contrast.
In my opinion, the stock OEM riser design is the only viable option to taller risers than stock. Most other risers (aftermarket) bolt solidly to the top tree and therefore do not properly dampen the handlebar.
Others have too much play in them.
I will post pics in a week or so after I get my lazy *** in gear and do the install. (live in Wisconsin and weather sucks for a couple of months yet.) Just wanted a sportier look/feel to the bike.
yeah it took me a total of about a week to get everything done with mine, went from 12.5 inch apes down to a 30 inch drag bar not to mention taking off all the excess stuff i didn't need. my main problem was waiting for a second set of hands to help me out with stuff, and parts breaking, stripped the coil out of one of the risers...2nd riser i had to buy in 6 months of having the bike, awesome. Take lots of pics of the process, something i wish i would have done. This is what mine started as, and what it is now.
