97 heritage intake?
Been trying to install the intake manifold on my heritage using the service manual instructions. I've taken it apart and put back together four times now and get leaks everytime. Used new seals and flanges each time and cleaned everything spotless. Installed the manifold first, finger tight, then put on carb seal and carb. Tightend carb and backing plate, then tightened manifold bolts, slowly and as even as possible. Leaks every time using carb cleaner to check for leaks. When I give the back intake seal a good shot of carb cleaner, the engine dies, indicating a leak. On the first three attempts installed seals dry. On the last attempt I put I very light coating of vaseline on seals(per HD mechanic instructions). PLEASE HELP. What am I doing wrong.
