Default new exhaust, new tuner?

Hey, i have a set of samson pipes on my new night train and dont really like them, I want a set of vance & hines, do i need a new tuner or program on the bike or should it be alright the way it is and just change the pipes? And second, if i decide to put a different air cleaner on it what would i need to do, maybe another tune or program?

New pipes, no tuner needed. New pipes and air cleaner, tuner needed. If you go the last route I would recommend the TTS MasterTune system as it allows for more flexibility and is a simple connect to the ECU when a tune is needed.

Just change the pipes you'll be fine and hit me up for a good price on them. Drew

And one other question, i have a few buddies that just picked up new bikes(new to them) which have aftermarket pipes and stock air cleaner, is there a way to tell if the pipes were just thrown on and no tune done, and how hard on the engine is this.

the plugs and the way the bike rides and the heat will tell you unless there is something plugged into the ecm or it was replaced with thundermax

The bikes seem to run really good, no hesitation or anything, i rode one and it doesnt seem as fast or peppy as mine, but mine is 96ci, his is 88ci, is there that much of a diff in the two.
