Hey guys...just got my 2" under tubes and was wondering what I need to pick up from the dealer on the way home so that I can do the job tonight. Base answers on the assumption that I dont have anything but basic hand tools, the forks and the bike...
I assume I am going to need oil of sorts, a seal or two and who knows what else.....
At the dealers recommendation, I got...new seals, bushings and SE "EXTRA" Heavy fork oil....sound about right? What size PVC pipe should I pick up at Lowe's for the makeshift seal installer?
When you set your seals, put a little RTV (black) around the outer edge of the seal and RTV on the bolt at the end of the fork tube. I clamped my lower in a vice at the brake caliper mounts to do the job. I think I used 1.25 " PVC but I used the wider connecting end, not the 1.25" part, I think. The second time I did it, I took the tubes down to my mechanic and he put them both together for me for $10.

Maybe 1.25" on a sporty or something......41mm is somewhere in the neighborhood of 1 5/8" i believe...
