I have not read what you are doing but a word. Of course if you have a spring preload spacer, it must be cut down the exact length difference between the two fork tubes. Do not take a chance and measure first. Just because the vendor said 2" does not mean 2". This I know from experience, so measure. I am sure you already know this but just checking. If there is no spring preload spacer and your fork spring hits the fork cap than you must buy the proper spring length (using a spring preload spacer for adjustment) to work also upgrading your spring value while at it. Good luck. PS make sure the ravel/stroke is not longer than the distance between the fender to the bottom of the triple tree or bad things will happen.
