I did a bunch of stuff to my bike and did upgrade stuff like primary and cam covers to chrome bolts, but now the rest of the cad plated stuff looks like crap.
How many of you have done bolt (chrome or stainless) upgrades and got away with a one-at-a-time swap. Like doing it without removing things completely and re-gasketing them. A few of the tranny and inner primary as well as the lifter blocks, for example.

I did mine one at a time and there were no issues. Actually I've done it twice. I used chrome bolts and started noticing some rust inside the allen heads...I hate rust on my bike!! It's really hard to get the chrome inside the allen heads. I recently swithed my bolts out using 12pt show polished stainless and they look great. No more rust!! Did I mention, I hate rust on my bike?? Found a guy down in Florida named Dan at Topline Fasteners. They were just getting statrted and didn't even have a website yet. Now they have a website and also sell on ebay. Dan went out of his way to help me and gave me the best prices I could find. I just sent him a few more fasteners to match up, like motor mounts, footboard mounts, peg hardware, etc. so just about every visible bolt will be ss. With the show polish ss you would never know it's not chrome. They look awesome...and no more rust!! I spoke to Dan today and suggested he look into sponsorship on here. Here's the website: http://toplinefasteners.com/
I have swapped out all of the TORX bolts for Stainless Steel Allen head bolts on two of my Sportsters so far. I still have another Sportster to go. Going to all Allen eliminates the need to carry around a TORX set of tools and the Allen head bolts are easer to remove without stripping then the TORX bolts are. I replace the bolts one at a time so I dont feel the need to replace the gaskets and so far I havent have any problems doing it this way. It looks better and performs better too and it gives my bikes a more custom look to them than the stock bolts do.

Thanks for the link, I put clear nail polish inside all the chrome fasteners I have, I like you hate rust
Actually, I to bought the polished stainless. They look great. Bought them at Fastenal. Seems like I had less then a 100 in every bolt on the motor and some other misc bolts that seemed critical to me.
