ok, so i bought a stock 09 deluxe. The dealer gave me $1100 in gift cards to spend on whatever. Like everyone else I want everything so........what's first. I could probably throw in a $1000 more. What do you guys suggest i do first? Pipes? Wheels? Bars? Chrome? Suspension?

IMO I would do the pipes, heavy breather, and a good tune.
All great suggestions on how to spend your $$$ but every party's got a pooper and I guess that's me. I'd ride the bike stock for a while, maybe even up to the first maintenance, and then decide what you want. Big bore kit? Maybe, but if you put that in first, you'll never know if the stock 96 was already adequate. Pipes, intake, and tune also a great suggestion, but there are so many out there, maybe you want to look around, listen to how they sound, talk to other riders before deciding. You can never go wrong with chrome, but chrome can devour a thousand bucks in a hurry. Anyway, JMHO. And if I had a new ride and a big gift card, I know I wouldn't be able to follow my own advice.
Condrats on the new ride, and that is what you should do...Ride it.
Can't tell ya how many people mod out their bike right away only to say a little later.."wish I would have done this or that". Put enough miles on it and it will tell ya what to do.

I never got that far, mine only lasted 2 days bone stock. I ould do pipes,a/f and a tune then ride and decide what else to do. Just remember to warm up that credit card as it will be put into service quite often. You can't go wrong with a Deluxe
I made it one day, I was back the next day for stage one install. I went with 103 big bore kit when I went out of town after only two weeks. Dealer said anything done in the first sixty days would fall under the two year warranty, so had the engine work done. I'll be home next week to see how it all worked out....
