I have a very intermitant problem with my 06 EFI Fatboy. Every once in a while the bike seems to hesitate "like she is not getting enough gas". The bike has about 3,000 miles on it, and it happened only about a dozen times. I can't seem to tie it to bad gas, rpm level or gear. I mentioned it to my stealership, and they test drove it, but they couldn't find a damn thing. Anybody have any ideas?
Just keep riding it. If it continues take it back to the dealer. You also may want to have them check the clutch adjustment at your next service. A good way to tell if the clutch is slipping is as follows:
ride the bike about 30 mph in 5th gear
cruise at 30 mph for a few seconds then engage the throttle all the way
if the bike responds immediately (although it will be sluggish) then the clutch is fine
if the bike revs very high and has a delayed response (kind of like when an automatic trans on a car kicks in), then you may want to have the clutch adjusted. I would imagine the dealer would do this under your warranty.
Was you'r question about a hesitation or about a clutch problem????........Back to the hesitation. My sons Road King done the same thing, he returned it to the dealer who installed the 25 degree injectors, did a stage 1 download, high flow air filter and the hesitation went away....Now back to the clutch......

I had the same problem with my 06 Fat Boy and the 25* injectors fixed the problem.
Since some people on here obviously have never had a clutch slip, it's just like when you push the accelerator on an automatic transmission. You push the gas, the RPMs go up and there is a lag time or "HESITATION" before the gear kicks in and the car responds by accelerating. If you havn't messed with the clutch to change a cable or something, it is probably fine, however it is just one more thing you can check off the list.
Oh by the way, Grey Biker a lot of questions and answers come accross here without sarcasm, so lets keep it that way.
Is it a hesitation or a miss? I had a miss on my 03 Roadking. The dealers never figured it out in several trips. Dealer test rode and said it was good. The first time it happened I thought I was low on fuel. Then it happened again. Intermittent problem. I never figured it out.
