Spent the past few weeks in here dreaming of being able to carry, I don't know... anything! Anyway, finally got my bags installed and the info came from this thread, so thanks guys. @HD_fan especially! I had these LED turn signals on a shelf so I made a bracket and installed them. The stock signals wouldn't fit anymore.
Have a quick disconnect for my bags on my Deluxe. Love 'em. Because I also have a quik disconnect passenger backrest, the posts stick out further than I like, but not terrible.
Here is mine. 09 Deluxe, Road King bags with Cycle Visions mount. SD Nick, I'm loving the Dragonfly fairing! May have to look into one.
awesome looking deluxe. I hate making accounts and stuff and finally broke down and made one cause im having a hell of a time finding a 21 60 spoke for the front of my 01 heritage. What brand is your wheel?? Looks great. Ive also got a wicked customs fairing on mine with the 4 speakers and single den radio and a little pocket underneath. Im trying like hell to find 14s thatll fit on it right.
hey man, what brand is your fairing? And what Size are the bars and your rider there that swoops back. Ive got a wicked customs on mine i believe. And i desperatley need atleast 12s but i want 14 bars.
Is there a fairing out there that fits the deluxe without the need for 2 inch pull back risers? I currently have 5 inch risers but I think are about an inch and a half pull back and 14 inch Apes but I've been wanting to get a new set of bars and risers that have taller bars and shorter risers but it's looking like it has to be one or the other either the new bars or a fairing because it seems like there is no such thing as a short Riser with 2in of pull back.
I have stock risers and 14" bars with a Reckless fairing, I did read where it said 2" pullback riser may be required but I don't have and didn't need it.

anyone running bars made for baggers that have the bend in the lower ⅓ of the bar? I'm wondering how bad it would look on a deluxe when the fairing is off. I'm thinking of doing 18" apes on like 1ź risers. 80% of my riding will be within 100mi of home but when I'm planning on going further on the highway I'd like to be able to slap a detachable fairing on and go. that means no fairing 80% of the time so the bars will be visible
I have a detachable windshield already but with my current bar setup it is right up against them and for some reason a ton of air blows straight up from the bottom and blows my beard up over my eyes. if it weren't for the air issue I would love to be able to run a bedroll stereo and the windshield.
