My wife wants her own Harley. She's 5'1", but doesn't want a Sportster (883 Low).
She's sat on all the bikes at the dealer, but has trouble getting both feet on the ground. Can any Softail be lowered enough for here? (Seat, shocks, etc.)
Delux , fatboy lo (if she is into the dark chrome thingy) or fatboy.. They all could be made to fit.. I am 5'4" and I am able to flat foot fatboy without any problem. I have changed the stock seat to stock fatboy lo you can go to brawler and that would be even better ... check out c&c seats pretty narrow 12" wide at the driver.. change the handle bars to mini apes or wildone road king 517 ( i have it 13inch pull back). No need to worry about the floor boards HD sells footlever that folds back so she can scoot her feet back on the floor board after shifting.. I love the chrome on fatboy instead of the fatboy lo .. and you prolly would get better deal on fatboy and change the shocks and use progressive drop in front suspension and still come out ahead than getting stock fatboy lo... good luck on what you decide but there are all the options out for you..
my wife is 5"3' and she can flat foot my bike now that it is lowered. She does complain on how wide it is. She thinks and feels that the dyna's are narrower, so she wants me to lower on of them.
I know it's been said, but pick the softail she wants and get it. You can lower it plenty to fit her. Between suspension, seat and bars you can make it perfect. The local stealer here recomends the softies for women because of this fact. They will fit her before it leves the showroom.
