A few friends and I are going to San Diego Aug 20st to 27th from Dallas, Texas. Looked up the milage and is anywhere from 1400 to 1650 miles for us so sounds like a good time to try.

I might try it this summer. Heading to Sturgis from Houston via KC to meet up with some friends. I've made the ride from Houston to KC in 12 hours and 700+ miles.

A buddy of mine's mom lives exactly 498 miles from his house. We're thinking about hitting the road, riding to her house, and turning around to head home...Shouldn't be too hard to pick up those last 2 miles along the way.

I am in, we should take a pic of our speedo at beginning and end with a local paper from that day in each shot. I rode 18hrs straight last summer, so I hope your skillet is ready, muwahahaha!

I've been planning to do it also, even have the route laid out. Probably do it in July as that's when we get our longest days sun comes up about 5am and doesn't set til 11pm.
I'll be keeping records for proof tho, otherwise it would like bragging about the one that got away.

i've done 700 miles in a day, so it would be fun to do. None of my buddies have any interest. It may be a solo trip or me.

I am with ya. I will have a wind shield on that trip. 70 to 80 mph with apes will kill us. LOL

Ive been working on putting a ride like this together as we speak. I think I may have a route planned, now I just gotta set a date and hopefully find someone to do it with otherwise it may be solo for me as well. I have wanted to do it for some time now but never actually done it so hopefully everything works out.

i have thought about it because it was there but you have to keep safety first. i would hate to hear that someone fell asleep or worse got killed for the only reason to prove something.
sorry if this offends anyone. just my thoughts.
