m i k e, I was/am a bit concerned about the strength but it's held up fine.
I will only be using it for long trips and it only has to support the weight of my right leg from the knee down.
Ruralmed, it is very comfortable with my left foot on the primary and my right on the peg.
Very comfortable and a nice change from having your feet on the forwards all the time.
Last summer I rode solo from Knoxville to Miami in one shot (apprx 900 miles). When I arrived I rode to "Bike night" and put on another 40 miles with my buddies.
id have to throw some new bars on my train for that ride but i could easily do 1000. I burn through 400 mile trips easily and i know i could keep going for hours. Its the longest ive ever rode though so i cant say its a definite. But id like to take my NT across country one year...i just need a job that allows that kind of thing
Sounds good Micahpop. We are leaving Arkansas on the 5th of July and headed to NC for a week of the Dragon and the surrounding area. One way is right at 700 miles so I will do my best to tack on another 300 that first day so I can join in on the conquest. Good luck!
Nice. I just saw this thread. I leave the 24th for a two week cross country from San Diego to Jacksonville, NC. Lots of friends along the way with plenty of stops and over nighters. I do have an open stretch fron Vegas to Dallas that is about 1200 miles. Might just have to try for 1000 in 24. Would put me ahead of schedule too. This will be my first cross country solo. I'm looking forward to it.
