Talking 1450 miles in 29 hours

No word of lie

Beat this 1450 miles in 29 hours straight no stops except gas from Winnipeg, Manitoba to Vancouver, British Columbia.

I think doing a 1,000 miles on a Softail and feeling good about it would really fry the nads on the Geezer Glide crowd. At 64, I'm too young to go the touring bike route... -L-

Nice ride, but 20 hours is brutal. Break up the trip in two days, stay at the lake and it would be sweet!

I suspect that it probably will be brutal - at least the second half of it anyway. That's why it will be a challenge!

Well, I got back late last night and while it wasn't as brutal as I thought it might be, it certainly was a challenge. I can honestly say that the ride was FUN! Sure, there were some parts that sucked (being stuck behind slow moving traffic in the twisties). But overall, I had a really good time and the riding was great.

A couple of observations:

- Having the ability to move your leg position is crucial to long distance comfort. My under $50 mod saved the day!

- A good back rest or pad on the roll bag would have been awesome. My lower back was in more pain at the end than my butt.

- The Heartland seat (made by Danny Gray?) is pretty dang comfortable!

- Check your pulley bolts, everyone. At my first gas stop, I noticed that one of the bolts was loose!

Here are some pics. Didn't really have time to stop and take too many.
