I did 700 miles from Oregon to Montana a few times on my 94 lowrider and at the end of the trips my *** was killin me. Since I picked up my 07 softail last summer the longest ride I got in was around 500 miles but at the end of the 500 I definitely felt like I could go another 500. Gotta love the softail. I definitely wanna give it a try this year
Id love to do it.. However for some wierd reason my neck gets this awful cramp right between my shoulder blades.. ANyone else ever get this??? It sucks I cant find myself riding for more than 200 miles or so and this awful pain in my neck shows up wtf

We rode 400 miles last weekend. Mostly interstate highways. My neck hurt the next day... it was kinda windy and the turbulence created from the big rigs is to blame, I think. I was sore, but my poor little wife went to see a chiropractor the next business day! The skid lid I was wearing doesn't catch much wind. Her HD 1/2 helmet with sun visor does. I normally avoid interstate roads....
Well I dont know what it is. We were riding from tennessee to colorado and 90% of the states we went through did not have a helmet law so I didnt wear one, but man After a few hours i had this horrible pain in my neck and had to stop. It really sucked. I dont know if its my position or bars. I have changed bars twice to try and get rid of it. Maybe i am just to tense and need to losen up a bit. But I dont feel tense hrmmmm I dont know

One possibility is it might be your handlebars and the position the put your arms and shoulders in.
I had that once though I would last longer than 200miles, once i changed the handlebars the problem went away.
I think New England would be a bad idea. More traffic and more congestion. If we go to Roanoke, once we get onto I-78 in Jersey, wide open roads though PA, MD And VA...
Probably a good point. How about something like this? We can even throw in part of the blue ridge skyline
wow I thought this thread would drum up a little more response than this, though maybe having it sit in the softail section limits the number who see it.
Maybe we should start one in the general section?
When is the drive millions of miles for HD day? it would sure help that total to do it that day lol
