Hopefully pick my new Cross Bones up this afternoon or tomarrow. Looking for options for the sissy bar I'd like something a little taller than what HD offers and I'd like to have higher bars. Is there enough slack in the stock cables to install 4" risers? And is anybody running aftermarket bags, what docking hardware did you need? Pics would be great. The harley stuff is so damned expensive!!
Were looking to get something a little more comfortable for the misses than the Rat King!!
I can't say for sure on the risers man, but as far as sissy bars go, I believe Drag Specialties has something like you are looking for. Or you could contact RudeDog on here. He makes some sweet custom bars. The next thing I have to do is get the Crossbones set up for 2-up (the wife has laid down the law) He is building me one
Check out Cycle visions attitude sticks for the sissy bar. On the risers I don't know off hand. Let me know if you want discounted pricing on the parts you need and shoot me a PM if so.
Thanks guys, It looks like the front brake line would be my limiting factor as far as the 4" rises go. The cycle visions sissy bars look good but they claim the round stock will not support a passanger. I'm just gonna go with the HD ones for now, gotta make momma happy.
Is there a kit to lower the seat or replace the springs on this thing. The stock seat configuration blows!! I had about a 80 mile trip home and couldn't hardly stand it! I'm 5'9" and weigh about 195lbs and couldn't budge the springs. I have a friend thats pushin 300 and he even thought it sucks.

You can get shorter and less springy springs if that makes sense. Boy, it is Monday morning here.
Why would you put a conventional seat on a x-bones ?
Not only would it completely change the looks to that of every other softail out there, but it also means that you will have a seat pan that slants backwards-putting pressure on your tailbone and bringing your knees up. Good luck on long rides !
