Stay strong, don't give into the dark side. Nah, I'm just kidding. I'm tempted too. Paying off the wife's student loans soon would be ample ammo I'm thinking to swing a new bike. Unfortunately I have another daughter coming around Thanksgiving who will be born with down syndrome so I don't think the finances are going to be there. Probably ever. I guess me and the Lo will be together for good. My boss a Marine Captain wants to get a new street glide special since his metric bike got smashed pretty much to pieces by the movers on it's way from Okinawa. He specifically wants one in the sand color since which they have at the dealer. He likes the color because it matches his FJ Cruiser. In the office he showed it to me and I happened to mention that I hadn't sat on it yet. Of course he proceeded to tell me I wasn't going to get the chance. Challenge accepted. Here's the pic I sent him last friday while I was at the dealer picking up my Lo

I thought the "Lo" was the dark side. I sat on a 2014 SG as well, but after the work I've done to my Lo and the ability to either ride it stripped down or loaded, the Lo still has more appeal to me. I do like the 2014 bags though I could do without the puking issues some of the 2014's appear to be having. More curious to wait on the Road Glide.

Default Riding Strong

I know I haven't posted on the forum very much, but I'm still going strong on my Lo. I'm up to 25,000 miles and going! Not ready for the bagger yet!

If I were to ever, I'd get a batwing fairing with a stereo, and get some hardbags like JoseWales has and still save money over a new bagger :'(

I do like the way the new bags open, with the latch in the back.. but if you tap on them, they don't even sound like fiberglass anymore..they sound like plastic now, which i know, they said about the fenders a year ago, but they really do.

but i haven't gotten to that point yet where i'd want a bagger.. not yet.. a few more years, or if a dump truck runs mine over in a parking lot (which i've had vivid dreams about several times..so im dreading it)

Well I'm still rolling on my LO with 20k, have absolutely no plans on getting ride of..... The ol lady and I kicked around idea of a batwing and hard bags turning it into a want to be street glide but after looking into the 2014 street glide special we really want one, but never the less with the government issues and down to one income it's going to have to wait on the second bike, it's all good tho at least it will give them time to work out all the kinks lol

I have 10k on my 2013 so far....I need to stretch the rear fender and have my struts fabricated to hidden so I wont be able to use my sissy bar. I hardly use my sissy bar anymore. I hope to start building my next bike next year from the frame up(bar hopper) I don't want that much convenience. I'm here to stay.

Just traded in my 2013 Street Glide for the 14 Lo. Really like being out in the wind again. That fairing made me feel claustrophobic.

Old bike...

New bike...

[quote=Josewales

Damn another one sells! Besides Jim and a few others still around, I feel like a stranger in this thread again.[/quote]

It's starting to seem that way, hell I have only been on here less than 2 years and I'm feeling like one of the old timers. At least most of the guys are staying Harley, I'd be down right livid if they were going rice

I definitly see the appeal of the touring bikes, especially after the Milwaukee trip, but me and the old lady agree the Lo ain't going anywhere

What I've noticed is that most of the married guys who really like my bike ride two up with their wives everywhere. However, they end up getting something to please their wives. That usually means something with a lot more storage space for one thing. The ones that can afford two bikes have two separate style bikes. Then the older couples tend to move onto trikes since the husband has a problem holding up a two wheeler because of health issues. To me, it really just appears that it comes down to money and compromising if funds are limited.
