Hey guys, I am new here. just bought my 1st Harley! I got a 2013 denim Black fatboy lo. Ive already started Mods. One question I have is I am looking at replacing or cutting the fenders down. I just bought the stock harley breakout wheel 21'
" and would like a front fender that doesn't hide the wheel as much as the lo's. I was thinking about the Softail slims fenders. Does anyone know someone willing to trade slim fenders for fatboy lo fenders? Also, Is it easier to just cut them? Thanks
Looking good. And I see you did the first mod with the reflector delete.
Welcome to the Cool kids club. Hopefully some will be able to help you out on the fender swap. Not me. I can screw up cutting a piece of paper in half.
Welcome! I love the denim black. I am still waiting for my 14 FBL to come in in March... Black denim was my first pick but around here there are so many of them so I went with the blackened cayenne sunglo.

I personally haven't had any experience with them, but there IS a user somewhere on here who has raked their trees.. it looks really good. I've always considered doing it, but you have to keep in mind that you may need new shocks or something to compensate for how much the front end will lower by moving the wheel out forward.
If they offer a better price than $690US(Ł425UK), go for it..lead the way

I have them on mine, they are a high quality product with great customer support, I don't recommend them with a stock size wheel. I went with a 21" with a 140 tire and I like the way they turned out. Unfortunately I haven't had the chance to put very many miles on since installing them but I haven't experienced any handling problems. If you research raked trees on the forum you will find very mixed reviews. I used this calculator to predict my results http://www.rbracing-rsr.com/rakeandtrail.html and ended up with about a 4.8" trail number. Remember any change in rake and trail will effect handling. I also installed a Race Tech front end lowering kit to bring the bike back into about the same stance it was to begin with.
Before
New wheel, stock trees
Trees installed, before lowering the front end
I guess I should have taken one with the stock wheel and raked trees
If you are going to do anything like this just be careful and measure everything as you make the changes, torque everything to specs and use loctite and a service manual and be VERY conservative on the test ride. people have gotten themselves and their bike hurt not doing this kind of mod properly. Good luck
Welcome, can't wait to see that done. Our bikes have the same front end as the slim so I can't see a reason why that fender wouldn't work. Shouldn't be hard to find a used one in the classifieds here.
