Seems to be the way this thread works- we can have more than one conversation.
So I just replaced my tires on my 13 Lo with some Michelin Commanders
My bike is bone stock with regard to the exhaust - this is my third HD big twin
And I found out -this has got to be one of the more difficult bikes to remove the rear wheel. Compared to my FXRS and FLHT standard. Both mufflers and the bracket need to come off. Both mufflers just to get out the axle bolt.
Muffler bracket to remove the rear brake caliper. Muffler bolts to bracket hard to get at. Muffler super tight on the collector due to heat from catalysts.
Needless to say as much as I don't want loud and lower rpm torque decrease- I want to go aftermarket just to be able to work on the bike a bit easier.
I guess I am asking for the guys that have systems that allow better access to the rear axle bolt and rear brake caliper. I am probably going to go to a 2 into 1 set up. I am looking at Bassani, D&D , V&H Pro, Thunderheader, etc
What do you feel has the quality all the way around -from the heatshields to the rear bracket? Comments and opinions please.
BTW - The Michelins are ok. Not real impressed on the highway compared to the stock Dunlops. The mountains -they are good. I will probably try the American Elites next
Finally got the new wheels installed and God do they look great. Had to drop the front end 2.5 just to get it back to a stock height. Just ordered the PV2 and it should be here Thursday. I want to drop the back but it looks like I'm going to wait to get the shotgun shock so I can slam it when I'm not riding and bring it back up a bit while I'm on her since I don't want to ride the bike all raked out. But here she is.

So where's everybody at? Out riding I hope, two weeks and not a post? I just ordered my Shotgun from JD today and I'd just like to say what a professional and efficient operation JD runs. With any luck, I'll have it this week! And that folks should end the major mods, for this year anyway. Hope ya'll have a great 4th everybody and ride safe.
I got home on June 16th for vacation thru jun 29th. Logged in just over 4800 miles only 2 rainy day during my 13 days off. I had a freaking blast up until the last few days when my Shotgun Shock stopped working and left me stuck in the garage. No customer service or return calls on the weekend.

Well that sucks about the Shotgun Shock! Let us know what went wrong when ya get it straightened out with JD. At least it happened at the end, not the beginning.
