So My 2010 Fatboy Lo has been doing something I have not experienced before. While running at high speeds between 60-80 mph. It is almost as tho the engine skips or kills for only a sec, gauge goes dead like a reset, down to zero and then back up to current speed. Has anyone encountered this, what are your thoughts. I was thinking maybe spark plugs are faulting, battery is on its last leg? Any help is greatly appreciated.
I can tell when the cables are loose on my bike or the battery is a problem at start up. If I've left the speedometer set to show what gear I'm in, or some other function, like the time of day, when starting the bike the read-out reverts to the total mileage. When the battery is good and cables are secure, the read-out stays where I left it on my last ride. You might want to see whether yours reverts to the mileage at start up.
I once did have a problem with a bad cell and that evidenced itself by everything shutting down at idle (at stop signs).
may be one of the only things made in the usa. i could care less who makes them as long as they're good
Well I do care. And that does not mean that I'm not for getting along with people from all over the planet.
I've got lots of miles on my bike. I switched over to the American Elites after three sets of other tires and at the recommendation of the best regarded independent Harley-only mechanic in the area where I live. For canyon riding, which I sometimes do fairly aggressively, limited of course by the limited lean angle of the Lo, these tires perform far better than the Commander II's and they last longer.
