Still have no idea what's going on with the bike. each time i put a 40amp fuse in i go to reconnect the battery and it sparks and blows the 40. So on the next warm day i'm going to disconnect the voltage regulator, clean it and hook it back up. A friend also told me that maybe the starter is stuck, and that maybe i should put it in 6th and try rolling it back and fourth to release it. But the biggest is is, there's no power going to the bike. I can't seem to find a short anywhere

Dan, unplug as many things as you can, then put the fuse back in, one by one start plugging things back in until the fuse blows again, this will narrow down where the problem is. If I get a chance I will look at the wiring diagram and see if I can't get some more suggestions for you. Didn't you have a voltage regulator problem a while back? Harley is known for them, I replaced the one in the CVO before it was 2 years old.

Through the suggestion of changing it due to another problem last year i changed it. Coming from a guy with sucky grip and laying on the floor it wan't an easy task. But it ran fine since then. Someone said take it apart and clean it and reconnect. Like i said it wasn't easy the first time. I'll tell you, i tried putting in the fusses then reconnecting the battery. When i do, it Sparks and pops the fuse. I've looked everywhere for a ground problem or a wire with a worn part of the shielding and i don't see anything. My biggest issue is i'm admitting i'm no mechanic. It's probably something simple that i just can't see.
Make sure your insurance is paid up, bypass the fuse and look for where the fire starts! jk!!!
These electrical gremlins can be a bitch especially trying to diagnose over the internet. Best advice I can give you is to try to do things in a systematic way and eliminate possible causes one-by one. I can extract the wiring diagrams from my service manual (2011) and email them to you if you DM me your email addy if it would help. - I think the entire service manual might be too big a file to email.
