I didn't install this one, but I don't see why it wouldn't be easy. The speedo comes with a transfer cable that transfers the mileage to the new speedo as well. It's all pretty straight forward. I'm sure one of the guys has installed it themselves and can chime in better though.

Default Finally... Apes!

So after procrastinating for almost 2 months, I finally took the bike out of commission to do the apes. I had to fight myself to get started on them because it was a perfect weekend for riding here in Virginia.

These mods are gonna be the last big mod I am going to do for a while; I still plan on powdercoating the console and the sissy bar I have, but besides that I think I am done, for now... It will be nice to have a little extra money in my wallet for a bit

I still plan on, later, blacking out the forks and blacking out the primary cover, rocker boxes & cam cover. I also really really want to pick up some big *** spoked wheels, 21" or 23" for the front and still keep the stock size for the back or maybe an 18". But that stuff is for later on down the road.

I really wanted to keep the bars straight in line with the forks but I found out, after a short and somewhat scary ride, it put me way to far back. I felt like I was going to fly off if I gave it enough throttle and it made it very hard to do any low speed maneuvers. Of course, I have pics:

Most definitely. One thing I found out was that it really isn't a hard mod to do. It is time consuming and there are a lot of things to do, but none of them are really all that hard. So if you need any info I'll be glad to help.

I am putting around here all the time so I may see you out on the road.

Okay, enough is enough already :P You can see the rest by clicking on the link to the set above. More to come yet, but it's getting there!
Noob Question Alert!! How do open the lids on flush Gas Tanks like that? Is there a button or release-lever somewhere, does it pop open with an electric keychain or something? I'm so used to the old school, unscrew the lid types of gastanks.

you push down on the gas cap, turn it 1/8th turn counter-clockwise and it pops open, then you just grab it and spin it like a normal gas cap

Way to go on the bars CaptMorgan! I personally don't like the look of apes straight in line with the forks. Mine are pushed a bit further than yours
