I just hit 5k last month and I've only had it since May '10 and we had a looong winter here. I have no idea where the miles came from. I swear the garage fairy turns the tire at night when I'm tucked away.
I'm still needing help wiring my HID kit and seems like no one in my area is wanting to help a man out... I'm not stupid, I just don't want to **** anything up!
So where do you guys order your tires from? I'm not a fan of plugged bike tires and came out the other day to find a 3 inch deck screw ran through tire and across the groove.[/quote]
I just bought Pirelli Night Dragons for mine (http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com) and love them. I don't know if it's the tires or not but it seems to ride a lot smoother now.
I have 11,500 miles on my bike. Front tire needed replaced back tire was fine but I went ahead and replaced both at the same time.

hell, I can't get any quality riding in this summer... to effin hot!!
I did a day ride, up to Stillwater and back (about 4 hours round trip)... it was 109!!!
I'm having trouble deciding if I want to get a windshield or not. I dont like the looks of them but my buddy swears he won't ride without one and we are going on a 1600 mile trip next month. What say you? The farthest you would ride without one?

- I reluctantly put a HD King detachable windshield on my old Fat Boy, thinking I would keep it off when I rode around town. I got used to the looks and the comfort, and it ended up staying on all the time. In the winter it kept me warmer and in the summer it kept the bugs off me and some of the hard-to-clean areas on the front of my bike.
- I never took the windshield off my Road King, even though it looks so much better without.
-I don't have one for my Fat Boy Lo -- we'll see how long it stays that way!

nothing un cool about a windshield IMO...matter of fact, done right and on most bikes...they have a cool old school look.
I'm gonna get one for my Lo...black frame & low smoke lexan.
and...they are great for riding in a group. around here there is sand...and w/o a windshield's riding in a group = peppered all day long from sand kicked up from my co riders.
also, if it rains on ya...you can tuck behind the lexan for some face comfort...those rain drops are like pellets on the skin. ouch!
another point...a windshield has an effect on the biked handling...something about the pressure on the front end makes the bike handle differently...subtle but it's there, and not in a negative way.
Help! I want to buy someone's Fatboy Lo passenger factory seat. Maybe you took it off your bike to get a better one for your passenger. I will buy or trade.
I have an HD Fatboy passenger touring seat (wide and comfy) to trade. I had it on my 2007 Fatboy wide tire - 200M so it will fit on a Fatboy Lo.

I thought it would not look so good but after I put mine on ehh not so bad. I love for long rides when the wife if with me. Other wise the bike is striped down for around town. 1600 mile trip = a lot of bugs and wind burn in these temp. I would opt for the windshield.
