Hahaha you look like a grasshopper or something. No offense, nice turn signal lenses btw. Do all 4 bulbs work? Just wanted to double check because, well, I sent them to you.
Yeah, my kids said I look like a bug lol. All four worked perfectly. Thanks. No offense taken btw.. they are called Ugly Goggles for a reason lol.

Okay, previous topic.. Race Tech Gold Valve Emulators. I bought the $116 ones since the other Jim, who I will refer to as Big Jim since he's got the crown jewel of our Lo's right now (aside from the one dude with the raked front end and custom wheels and such).. since he talked me into buying them. Point is, they seem really easy to install. You do have to take the forks completely apart (further apart than just removing the lowers to get powdercoated) so now i'll see what kind of tension is really on that spring. Aside from widening the stock oil hole to 5/16", and drilling 2 more @ 5/16" perpendicular to the stock one (one higher, one lower, 7/16" apart from the stock).. the emulators basically just drop in and sit above the damping rod, and below the spring (page 2-62 in the 2010 service manual, #20 or so on the diagram).. there's something about adjusting the preload on it, which is basically an allen bolt that runs through the emulator and a lock nut on the bottom.. all of it seems straight forward, and if i can con my neighbor into getting away from his wife for a few hours I might actually be able to do it this weekend. but no guarantees. actually..i quite doubt i'll be able to do it. haha. but hope is nice.
Just remove the dampening screw at the bottom of fork once the wheel is off, then "loosen" the big nut at the top, pop with a heavy mallet and oil should release out the bottom. Then just unscrew and disassemble, that's how I was told to release pressure from my indy. I have the RaceTechs, but I'm waiting on my chrome lowers for FLHT, so I have not done this yet! If you beat me to it, let me know if that works and I'll do the same. You crack me up Jim, I bet you researched the chit out of front suspensions and you just had to have it like me haha.
F34R, Just a thought. Paint that oil tank to match the tank. Whatcha Think?
i agree... imo, they should make the lo come with the oil tank painted to match on all the paint options (white, silver, blue, vivid black, & denim black)
Well, the Le Pera seat I'm going to get has the white piping and white center stitching. It would probably clash a little too much with the white oil tank.
I took a trip to the dealer today as they had a 2012 Lo in stock. Mine will be delivered soon and I wanted to see for myself if the rear fender was in fact plastic. It is not. I was able to stick a magnet to the rear fender of both the 2012 Lo and Deluxe.
