Default My Bike

Well I just picked this thing up last monday, first Harley and I love it, 1400 miles on it already. Future plans: D&M power flow intake, 21/18 black spoked wheels, and a Fuel Moto 107 w/ Cams and Heads. I have a question for yo guys, anyone know where I can get some mounts to raise the front fender? I will need to pick it up prob 2-2.5" to clear the 140/70V21 tire. Name: 2012-04-26_18-58-06_639.jpg

Same here. I intend on a Fat Cat along with the Fuel Moto 107 kit.

I may have finally found an asnwer to what seat to get. JP custom solo seat looks great and Rider1200 regular FB has it. He PM'd me last night saying it is very comofrtable. Bonus. Lepera bare bones and C&C solo just never looked right to me on a 200 wide. Seems to me they are more deisgned for a 180. JP seat looks like it belongs as seen here in Rider1200's pic...

First off, Highdrum: sick lookin bike! Have you thought about sending the fairing out to get painted denim black? (I know, it's a lot of money to do it.)

If your dealer really talked to you that way, you should find another one.
The PCV is working great BTW Bill! And why do you tempt me so with putting your other pipes in the classifieds?! You may be getting an email from me soon one those... maybe... I have spent a lot already and have to keep the rest of my money for the cruise this year, but we will see.

Ok, so here is what is happening on the silver Lo: I got all of my stuff from the powdercoater ($200 for the upper and lower fork legs, console, sissybar and sideplates, shifter levers and brake lever) and while the overall appearance looks great (he even put a coat of clear over the top), the edges around bolt holes and other open places look like ****... I spent about 1.5 hours scraping off the excess powder with a razor blade and then sanding it smooth.

So I go to put the forks together and when I went to slide them on, the got stuck... well i took them back apart and noticed that I completely forgot to check the inside of the fork tubes... FILTHY!!! Absolutely filled with pieces of sand stuck to the leftover oil inside the lower fork legs... Like an idiot, I never even checked to ensure the inside of the tube was clean. So when I go to pull it apart, I see there is some light scratching inside the fork leg, but this is what concerns me:

It is the "Lower Slider Bushing"
As you can see, the one side is scratched all to hell (well, not that bad really, the teflon-like coating is the part that is scratched, the actual metal is fine)... Now here is the thing, is this ok? Will this affect anything if I sand it smooth? I am kinda running on a budget here and would really rather not have to go pick up another one of these (even if it is only $10 or so; the dealership is a pretty good drive away from me though), but may do so anyways just for safety's sake. Jim? Bill? Got any input on this?

Thanks for the compliment CaptianMorgan, yes plan is to go denim on the fairing, as well as get some matte lower fork sliders, have already ordered them. Also have black headlamp trim bezel and wrinkle primary cover coming as well. Does anyone know of where to get some custom brackets to raise the front fender about 1.5"? I will need to do that after I install the 21" front wheel with the 140/70 front tire. Will be installing a burly front slammer kit to keep stock ride height up front so handling won't be affected.

highdrum,

Dude... I have a black denim bike also and I really want to do a MS Batwing fairing. However, I want to get it painted before I even put it on. I've been asking around about where I can get one painted... but no real warm fuzzies yet. So, if you crack that that code... could you PLEASE clue me in on how you get yours done. Also... I'm really looking forward to see how yours turns out. Lots of pictures as soon as you do it!!
