Only because I am paranoid.. The rear flange does not sit flush to the mount behind it.. I am not sure these pics will show what I am talking about, but can someone give me a thumb up or down on if this should be flush?
So my bike finally went under the knife for a cammed 103 build with my Indy. Had to wait a few weeks for the pistons. Found a small surprise when the heads were pulled, freaking exhaust valves were white from running to lean. I have 5K miles on the bike now with the only mod being a V&H exhaust. The dealer told me when I bought it that it didn't need a tune, now I know better. So along with the new pistons and cams I'm having the heads ported and milled a bit for a 10.5:1 compression, a valve job, and a high flow breather. As soon as the heads are done it'll be back together and tuned properly. I had him pick me up a PV tuner just in case I decide to change some more things out later. The next week or two need to hurry up. Attached are a few pics from this weekend.
killer sweet..when i win the lottery i'll build my engine up and yeah, you can tell if you need a tune or not by occasionally pulling your spark plugs and seeing how they look .. i basically use these guides as a reference:
And now side topic.. someone remind me who it was who had a powdercoater who could match the satin chrome..or knows a painter who knows the color combination to it.. i have a good idea for my primary side of my bike for something, but it'd have to be in satin, and the part i need doesn't come in that color.. soo.. word.

Since they did not come with the pipes.. I'm guessing another trip to the dealer is in order.. Or is there an aftermarket one worth getting?
The standard Harley gaskets work just fine, and most say they work better than the Screamin' Eagle gaskets.. they sit right inside the exhaust openings on the cylinder.. and you don't need any special tools to remove or install them.. i just tore out the old ones with a pair of needlenose plyers (making sure that no threads or anything fall in to the hole)..then just popped the new ones in.. took like 10 minutes.. as far as the flange sitting flush against the exhaust hole, i don't recall, but as long as it's keeping the pipe in there and there's no leaks, you should be fine..
Yes it was me. Was actually the chrome guy who did it...actually a different chrome process/finish to give it polished alum look. From my understanding they did something to the last layer of plating for the effect...but don't ask me what. Shop is acting like HD does with their secret paint recipes...and won't share the tricks.

Oh fyi the back tailight ring due to being made of plastic, was plastidipped with an exact finish to match. I am lil curious on how well it will hold up in time. Sorry no pics yet...but the day I get my bike back I will takes a crapload on the bike for show and tell.
