Couldn't hurt that's for sure. Just want the oil change at intervals to be stress free oil, filter, clutch adjustment since I am in there anyway and AC and then ride. Debating on Amsoil all three holes. Whatever oil I start with I would like to continue to use the same.
just FYI.. there's a plug-hole under your crankcase on the engine.. don't ever touch that bolt..that's not your oil drain.. your actual oil drain is on the frame under the oil tank, kind of behind the exhaust mounting point
Just another suggestion to further confuse you... It's what I went with and love it. There was a definite, noticeable difference with the shockproof transmission oil for sure.
OK cool thanks. I was trying to find some videos and see which ones to remove. But can't find one for 96b CI. So I have been hesitant. Thanks for the heads up.
Here is a link for your fluid changes. Just scroll down a bit to the sections you want. Simple easy to follow instructions with good pictures. http://www.dudeworld.com.au/HOWTO.HTML

Gear box is a little different in that one being an 88ci and all but still similar for the rest for sure ty. You do not see to many videos on the big ci motors.
No but it is a good reference. Last quick service on my bike and the wife's Sportster took me about an 1 1/2 hrs to do both bikes. That was complete fluid changes, cable lube and crankin some grease into the steering head.
