I have seen quite a few deluxe's with the 21 inch front wheel ever since Samson exhaust had there bike built with the long tail cholos on it. Can any one tell me whats involved and whats needed besides the wheel and tire. any info would be appreciated
I got my 21" x 3.5" wheel through Ride Right. The stock spacers worked fine. Only thing I would do is get the matching rotors and chrome hardware. Best mod I have done so far.
Right now i have 16 fat daddies on my ride i also have the matching rotors and pulley.will the rotor still be usable with the 21 inch
Yes, you can use you existing rotor, same diameter. I changed mine, but from stock to floating spoke matching ones. You may consider an upgrade in your front brakes (CONSIDER, NOT A MUST), I replaced the stock caliper for a direct bolt on Performance Machines 6-Piston caliper.
Do it, you'll feel like you have a brand new bike with that huge nice wheel.
For those of you that have the 21" wheel, how does the handling compare to stock ? How about for a 7 hour road trip on the freeway ? would there be anything to be aware of ?

Mimo.
My bike has the same calipers and I couldn't agree more with Mimo. Swap the rotor over it will bolt right on. I'll take a 7 hour road trip on my 21" wheel any day. I'm leaving on Thursday in fact.
I just put a set of Mamoths on my Deluxe and had no problems bolting them on. I need to bleed the front brake before I ride it so I cannot comment on handling yet. I should get that done today and get my first ride in. I must admit, the change in looks is much more dramatic than I expected. The pics here just don't do a 21 complete justice. Check out my thread...
The 21 will fit without any mods to the front fender or rotors. I suggest you get new rotor bolts when swapping the rotor. Harley spacers should work fine. I originally planned to go with a 21 - 3.5 but after I got the 3.5 I changed my mind and sold it and bought a 21 -3. The 3.5 was HEAVY and I was concerned about stretching that 90 tire that far. Plenty of guys do it but I just decided to get a 3 inch wheel. The 3 inch wheel is still heavy but not as heavy as the 3.5. I should have weighed them both. Let us know what you decide...
Forgot to mention...I put tubes in mine even though they are supposed to be sealed. There have been some reports of them leaking when running tubeless.

I forgot how heavy the front wheel felt at first compared to my stock solid fatboy wheel. It took a few minutes to get used to. But I carve canyons to the limits of my bike on it every week.
I have the 21x3.5 RWW, it is not that heavy. I even swapped handlebars when intalled the new wheels, took the torsion momentum higher and narrowed it with the 18" inch apes (compared to the previous beachbars) and no problem, the only moment in which I feel the wheel "heavy" is when I pick-up the bike from the jiffy stand to ride, as soon as the whels starts turning losses all its weight
