Default Fuel Pack or No Fuel Pack

Found good deal on V&H Longshot classics for 01 FI fatty (stage one installed). I do not have the cash for fuel pack at this time...So is it a big deal to run without (at least during summer). Pros? Cons? of fuel pack. Will it hurt anything not to run it?

It probably won't hurt it, but it won't run it's best. If you decide to give 'em a try, I would put in a fresh set of plugs and monitor them for a lean condition....Also, instead of a Fuel Pack, you might give a DFO a look. They are easy to find in the 100 buck range and work very well.

it will not kill your engine, but as mentioned it will not be running optimally. you have a good potential to end up running lean.

You said you have a stage 1 A/C installed already. If your ECU has been flashed by the dealer your already coverd.

I think he means a Digital Fuel Processor like the Cobra FI2000.

DFO is for Digital Fuel Optimizer...It is made by Dobeck and marketed by both the DFO and TFI names as well as a couple of others. They have been around a longer than some of the units like the Fuel Pack or Cobra.

Be 100% sure that a download/flash is on your bike though... I ran the same setup, no issues other than some decel popping which is normal. Have a DFO/TFI now, installed that after adding cams.
