Unless they changed them the SE wires are solid core and will make the light come on intermitently.(did on my 04)

The Accells I mentioned earlier in this post come in red and solved my problem

Interesting....SportyReb ( above comment ) says;
"Get the 'Screamin Eagle' 10mm wires. That will fix your problem like it did mine as I did almost the same thing you did."

You say the Accells worked for you and yet they are the wires that caused a prob. for me. ...???

On tuesday I will get the SE wires and try them...( I'll post to let you know how they work for me. )

thanks for the comments,

I got a Blue pair of Accells last week from J&P Cycles and they were Delghi compatible too, but as soon as I road about a mile from my house the check engine light came on. I rode to the Harley shop yesterday and they had a red pair of Screaming Eagle wires in stock. I put them on last night. Going on a good long ride this afternoon so I'm hoping the light stays off.
Does that code need to be cleared in some way or will the light not come on if it fixed the problem? I will let you know if it still comes on?

I rode about 100 miles today and the check engine light never came on.
The Screaming Eagle wires did the trick.

wow.. I didn't think this thread would come back so I posted my 'conclusion' in a new thread with subject line;
SE wires on '04 FLSTC ( Pic )

In the new thread, I state that the SE wires worked for me...no more engine light coming on.

and I think they look good..
